Ford announced \this will start at 7 AM Eastern time, right when Good Morning America begins, which means the live event will have the following starting time in the other five cities: Dearborn - 7 AM, Los Angeles - 4 AM, Barcelona - 1 PM, Shanghai - 1 PM, Sydney - 11 PM. #MustangInspires
Ford is asking fans of the Ford Mustang to share pictures of the car, which they are considering "photographic stories of inspiration" on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. This is a prompting social effort to bring attention to the promotion of the upcoming sixth generation Ford Mustang. Being that this is the most anticipated vehicle of the year, it has already been the subject of gossip and covert spy photos covering hopeful details from body to build.
Ford states that much of their inspiration for the flesh of the vehicle came from "Steve Mcqueen, a panther and a fist breaking through glass". An aggressive and athletic car with a true fastback shape set by the pair of vertical lines instead of the original "hockey stick" crease. With new body configuration comes a trapezoidal grille, mounted fog lights in bottom of the front, an assertive power dome with functional heat extractors and triple LED tail lights and blacked out surround area. This new "Fusion Coupe" also includes a body color diffuser and a set of twin tail pipes from the rear.
New colors will also be introduced such as "Competition Orange", "Triple Yellow Tri-coat" and a grayish green called "Guard". These colors replace colors such "Gotta Have It Green". Though the rest of the colors have not changed.
What's Under the Hood?
Three versions of the new 2015 Ford Mustang will exist, a 3.7 liter V6, a 5.0 liter Coyote V8, which will benefit from the increased power in the GT, and the most surprising, 2.3 liter EcoBoost. The EcoBoost, joining the Mustang for the first time, offers efficiency and power within the new 4 cylinder engine. It comes with high capacity direct injection system which precisely controls fuel delivery, while a new twin scroll low inertia turbo charger means incredibly fast time-to-torque. No statistics have been released for performance data such as fuel economy, 0-60 times, or details on power numbers, but the 2.3 liter EcoBoost is expected to put out 305 horse power at 5,500 rpm and 300 pound feet of torque between 2,500 and 4,500 rpm. The 2.3 liter will certainly outperform the V6 model but the performance stats for the V8 aren't expected to jump by much, though these estimated numbers could drastically change as certification continues.
Interior "Cock Pit"
From Ford, "Taking inspiration from a cockpit, we struck a balance between analog dials and digital feedback. The shifter is optimally placed. And the steering wheel feels just right in your hands, for a dynamic driving experience." Ford has taken the opportunity to completely redesign and modernize the mustangs cabin making it more stylish and easier to figure out. From the smooth strip of metal lining the width of the dash to contrast stitching and leather, it's layout is of unquestionable likeness to an aviator's cockpit. In addition, the new cabin space is larger.
Even small details were brought into a new age, from the smaller, leather wrapped steering wheel to the advance in car communications system, with touch screen and voice activated control, and "Intelligent Access" with push button start.
Ford states "This is not technology for technology’s sake. Every feature Mustang offers enhances your driving experience – whether it’s the advanced sensors that detect cars in your blind spots or the advanced communications system." They also want to make it clear that driver assist features are supplemental and do not replace the driver's judgement. All of this and the snow/rain controls make this buyer savvy car.

As if it weren't already too goo to be true, the new Mustang is complete with a new suspension set up in the front end. A double-ball-joint independent set up with MacPherson struts in place of the reverse-L set up of the current Mustang.
According to Auto Blog "As for transmissions, Ford has resisted the urge to fit some exotic seven-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic or even a dual-clutch transmission to the sixth-generation Mustang. Instead, the Getrag six-speed manual gearbox from the current car will be carried over, and it will be joined by a six-speed automatic, which for the first time will feature genuine paddle shifters."
With “a new design and greater refinement, world-class power and performance plus innovative new technologies, Mustang is ready for the next 50 years,” Ford marketing chief Jim Farley stated on Tuesday.
Did You Know?
The Mustang also is the star of the movie “Need for Speed,” to be released in March.
2015 Mustang Convertible
An all electric, fabric top convertible is also in the makings from the big brains at Ford. It is promised to have quicker and quieter operation than the current vehicle out in market.
Ford states "The Mustang convertible* is the even more carefree cousin of the fastback. While it shares the same genes, it was purposefully designed from top to bottom to be a convertible. And speaking of tops, the all-new Mustang convertible goes topless in approximately half the time of the current model."
This will also be available late 2014.
