GTA vs Saints Row

Saints Row

The Saints Row franchise did not start until 2006 when the first game was released. Set in the fictional setting of Stilwater, Michigan you play a man who is walking down a street and gets talking to a street girl. Seconds later a gang shooting goes down and if it was not for another gang getting in on it and saving his life he would have been dead. Feeling that he owes his saviors he joins the gang. It is at this point the game begins. You first have to prove yourself at an initiation where you learn to control your character in a fight, then its time to get armed. Once you are armed then the fun starts because as soon as you leave the gun shop the street is crawling with rival gang members for you to shoot.
2008 saw the release of Saints Row 2. Set again in Stilwater it takes place two years after the events of the first game. You have spent the last two years in a coma after surviving the final incident in the first game and with help you find your way back to Stilwater. Upon arriving in your old gang neighborhood you find it looking completely different and discover that the Saints have disbanded. It turns out that one of the flock was an undercover cop who is now the Chief of Police. Your first mission is to go and rescue a former gang member from court and then try to rebuild the gang which you now are in charge of.
2013 saw the release of Saints Row IV which take the franchise in a different direction. There are still gangs to fight but this time it is an alien invasion that is the main focus of the game. The game is set in a computer generated version of Steelport which the aliens have created. You need to find a way out while fighting the computer generated gangs from your past. This game also ads superhuman abilities.
There is a fifth game in the pipeline.
In 2011 Saints Row The Third was released which saw the story shift from Stilwater to Steelport a Dystopian City under the control of the Syndicate.

GTA

The GTA Franchise was started in 1997 with the release of the first game. This first game was a 2D top down shooting game where you moved around one of three Cities taking on jobs and killing gang members. The Three Cities were Liberty City, Vice City and San Andreas which players of the newer games will recognize as they are the settings for later games in the series.
In 1999 two expansions were released which showed the developers UK Origins. These were GTA: London 1969 and GTA: London 1961. Both of these games were set in London in the 1960's and played like the original.
Also in 1999 GTA 2 came out. It received mixed reviews with people thinking the graphics were to like the original and not up to date enough. However it was praised by some for its game play which this time saw you in a futuristic world overrun with gangs. You again had missions to complete and gang members to kill but it was set in one town which had three districts to explore.
In 2001 the first 3D GTA game was released. GTA III introduced the more story driven gaming style that GTA fans know today. It was set in Liberty City one of the Cities from the first game. You play a bank robber who was betrayed by his partner and left for dead. However you are found and sentenced to a jail term but before they get you to prison the truck you are in is ambushed and you escape but only just. The story progresses with you working for Gangs and getting on the wrong side of them before you finally get your chance of revenge.
There are lots of other GTA games with the most recent being GTA 5 that was released in 2013. Each game plays in a similar way and is usually set in one of the original Cities from the first game.

Similarities

Both games are very similar in a lot of ways. They are both:
  • Open World
Both games are classed as Sandbox or open world games where the player can roam around the City freely.
  • Gang based
Both games use gang warfare as there main plot device with the goals often being the elimination of rival gangs.
  • Third Person Shooters
Both games have Third Person Shooter elements in them.
  • mission orientated
Both games have missions that have to be completed in order to finish the game.
  • story driven
Both franchises use stories to start and move the game along. This makes them feel real
  • Driving
Your character can jump in a car and drive around town in both games.

Differences

Although both sets of games seem to look and feel the same the one main difference is the fact that you play the same character throughout the Saints Row franchise but each GTA brings a new player character and a new story to play through.

GTA V vs. GTA IV

GTA V vs. GTA IV

Updated January 3, 2014
Here's a running list of the new inclusions and differences in GTA V since GTA IV. All notable differences are included in these bulleted lists, separated by category. It's just an easy way to see what new stuff has been added to the game without having to search the internet and read through tons of reviews!
If anything isn't included, be sure to post it in the comments section with a reference link, and it will be added.
It's here, and it's way bigger than San Andreas, more detailed than GTA IV, and for the first time, includes 3 playable characters who live simultaneously within the GTA world. These are just some of the changes you'll see in GTA V. This resource is dedicated to keeping a 'diary' of the rest!

Character Development & Functionality

This time around, you're no longer one single character, but three. These characters play a vital role in each other's lives, and you'll have to have a knack for switching between them when the time is right. Check out the confirmed changes made to main characters, how they impact the GTA universe, and how they grow as the game progresses:
  • 3 main characters are now yours to control: Michael (an ex-bank robber), Trevor (an army vet) and Franklin (a repo man). They each have unique abilities: Michael can slow down time during gun fights, Trevor can deal extra damage and take less damage and Franklin can slow down time while driving.
  • Switching amongst characters on the fly is something you can freely do, almost at any point (not counting specific missions or scenarios). It will be performed through a radial menu. When you switch to another character, the one you used before goes back to his daily routine until you select him once again (time never stops when you switch characters)
  • The 3 characters can be used strategically to help each other, through the usage of this new character-switching feature.
  • Skill advancement will be included, similarly to San Andreas, where the more you swim, run, drive or jump, the better your character will get at doing so.
  • Character aesthetics are back, with haircuts, tattoos and numerous clothing options. The selections made available of these aesthetics vary on which of the three characters you're using, so that their "look" will make sense and not appear wacky.

Map & Game Environment

Fans loved San Andreas and have known it to be the "best of the series," and GTA V will put S.A.'s map to shame with far more land area and way more intricacy. Land, sea and air will all be a major part of the game's landscape, with many of the sorely-missed gameplay items making a return.
  • The biggest world map in the entire GTA series, bigger than the maps of San Andreas, GTA IV's Liberty City and the entire world of Red Dead Redemption, COMBINED. It encompasses the city of Los Santos (in the GTA world, that's our "Los Angeles") which lies within Blane County. You'll be able to explore every nook of the outskirts of the county, including the dangerous outskirts of the desert.
  • The entire map is open and unlocked to you from the instant you start the game.
  • Moving across long distances with ease was made a priority. No more monotonous, endless car trips are necessary like in GTA IV. Switching between characters is just one way to instantly "teleport" to a far area of the game world.
  • A Google Map-like zoom animation will trigger when you switch characters, dropping you right into a new location in the world.
  • Airplanes are back, as are parachutes.
  • An vast underwater world is yours to explore, and it is slated to be "massive." Put on a diving suit and explore the bottom of the sea (just beware of sharks!). There are hidden goodies down there, including but not limited to shipwrecks and other items. Every boat you use will provide you with scuba gear - just leap out and you can venture down in the depths. You'll also encounter other divers down there.
  • Checkpoints are featured in missions - you don't have to start over from the very beginning every time you fail.

Ways to Earn, In-Game

Getting money was always the focus of the series, and it really lost its purpose in GTA IV due to the game having so many features removed since San Andreas. Those days are gone, and your need for money will be more feverish than ever. Here's what you'll be able to do to get some:
  • Business ownership is back, where your characters can purchase and manage various businesses throughout the city as a way to make residual income. Each of the three characters will have bigger interests in specific kinds of businesses, since they have different personalities and are from different backgrounds.
  • Petty crimes including ATM robbery, car theft and hustling are stated to be other ways to make money.
  • Organizing a major heist is a revolutionary new feature added to the game, where you can, at any time, choose a target location in the game world and fully organize a heist using tactics and hiring a crew. The crew you hire can range from "cheap help" to master crooks, and the choices you make can result in either success, or things going terribly wrong. Heists are run according to your rules. You can either be stealthy, or bold and explosive, using brute force. Heists are explained to be the #1 way to make major cash in the game.

Cars & Other Vehicles

Car enthusiasts can rejoice, as GTA V is giving its entire automotive selection an overhaul and a new importance, especially to ownership and customization. Here are some of the changes being made to the way the game will handle cars and other usable vehicles:
  • More vehicles than any other GTA game in the past will be featured in V.
  • Cars will drive more naturally than they did in GTA IV, and this just might be one of the most important upgrades of the game's mechanics. They will hold the ground accurately, and drive more similarly to a car in a racing game.
  • Vehicle ownership are more of a priority. You'll be able to purchase garages for storage. Cars that are "yours," when lost or destroyed, will appear in an impound lot where you can re-claim them once again for a fee.
  • Vehicle modification is back -- you can modify your cars with various performance (engine, suspension & brake) and aesthetics (window tint, paint jobs, grills, spoilers, paint jobs).
  • Jetskis & ATVs are new vehicle types being introduced in the game.

Combat & Weapons

Weapons seem to not change much between series, but exciting new modifications will be a part of your weaponry in GTA V. They'll also directly influence how your heists get pulled off, depending on your intention of going 'stealth' or just overpowering your target.
  • The combat system is getting an overhaul, and this was made clear numerous times. Rockstar is getting inspiration from Red Dead Redemption's "dead eye" mechanics and Max Payne 3's destructible environment mechanics, 'kill cams,' run & gun technique and "last stand" feature. Stated features include advanced cover, numerous new animations for run & gun including shooting from the hip and a new "offense jog" style of running, and doing combat rolls into cover.
  • Meelee combat has also been improved.
  • Weapons can be customized with various inclusions, including but not limited to laser lights, high-capacity magazines and scopes. Even silencers make a comeback.

Randomness

Fans of the GTA series have known and loved it for being about exploration. It will continue to be a major time-waster with GTA V. Here are some of the random encounters and ridiculous things you'll be able to see and do:
  • Hitchhikers will be seen here and there. You can pick them up.
  • Giving the finger will actually be an action you can do, and it will entice different reactions from different kinds of bystanders, and in different areas of the city.
  • Dating is gone.
  • Animals will be seen for the first time ever in a GTA-series game. They'll be very prominent in the outskirts, namely coyotes, bobcats and the like. You'll be able to hunt.
  • Dirtbike races will be plentiful in the outskirts, and this is obvious with all of the snake-like dirt tracks seen outside of the city. Be careful on those steep mountains, though.
  • Base jumping resumes in GTA V, now with more scenery and locations to take the plunge from.
  • Yoga, golf, tennis, triathlons and the gym will be more new inclusions for the mini-game list in GTA V.
  • A resurgence of the Grove Street Gang and Lost M.C. will be seen.
  • A soundtrack will play, even when you're not in a vehicle with the radio on. It's not stated if this only happens during tense or frantic events, or all the time.
  • A military base is included in the game world.

Multiplayer

Multiplayer returning to GTA V is no surprise, but big changes are in the works for the way it will be handled, bringing a whole new level of fun and interactivity. The multiplayer world includes a lot of character customization, car customization, property ownership, cooperative and open-world exploration that suits all different styles of gamers.
  • A "crew" feature similar to Max Payne 3 will be seen this time around. Crews can either be private (amongst invited friends) or public. A player can be a member of up to 5 crews. Task completion will earn experience points.
  • Property ownership exists in the multiplayer world, where you can invite friends over. Garage ownership also exists, in which you can store and collect the cars you've acquired.

GTA: San Andreas - Mobile gets a real console game

Welcome back to Grove Street...

...and how the streets have changed, am I right?
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas was released in 2004 for the PlayStation 2 as a sequel to the series coming after the neon flavored Vice City in 2002, but before the 2008 let-down Grand Theft Auto IV. As far as the GTA games go San Andreas is the one I remember most. It had the larger map, new vehicles and weapons, expanded side missions and character customization, full-length storyline and the first multiplayer functionality in a GTA game. The game itself was put into the Game Edition of the Guinness Book of Records in 2009 as the most successful game released on the PlayStation 2 with 17.33 million copies sold. Two years later Kotaku stated that it had sold over 27.5 million copies worldwide!
Now, 10 years after it's release, the Windows Store has added this game of legendary status to it's arsenal.
If you've heard anyone go off on the "Tablet Wars" you must know that the Windows tablets have had a late start and the proof of how far behind they really are can be found in the Windows Store. Only a handful of notable games have been added and the users are feeling that pain. Apparently Windows did it's research on what kinds of games have sold well because they took the best one they could find.
At $6.99 this is an amazing addition to the store and anybody who played it back then will be tempted. But can this decade old masterpiece of a game bring some hope to the barren wasteland that is the Windows Store?

10 Years Later...

This review is not focused on Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. The game has been reviewed, re-reviewed, revisited, ported and on the news more than once. You don't need me to tell you if you want to play this game. You either do or you don't, and since you're here, you probably do. This review is taking a look at the idea of putting it onto Windows Tablets, it's gameplay and it's issues.
HOWEVER!
I would like to touch on the fact that this game (by itself) holds up surprisingly well after so much time. The music is still great. The voice acting by David Cross, James Woods, Samuel L. Jackson and everyone else is amazing. There's a great storyline, which helps unlock a lot of the games features. Graphics in the GTA games always have their quirks but I feel like the slight blockiness add to the personality of the game.
What I'm trying to say is, yes, after 10 years the game itself is still amazing.
Touch controls? Ew. Whip out the USB Mouse

Gameplay

When it comes to an open world game with so much going on in it the first question is 'does it run?' Everyone has been in that crazy fit of rage when they pay for a game or an app and find out that it doesn't even work well on your device. It's infuriating.
The short answer is yes. Yes it does run.
The machine I use is the original Surface 32gb and I'm happy to say it performs almost how you'd expect it to. The GTA games are known for their bushes and street lights suddenly popping into existence (and being made out of titanium apparently) but they've never really been an issue as far as playability. Well the same is true for this version. The bushes, street lights and the occasional building send you flying off your motorcycle only to bleed into the game half a second later. Since this is an old problem I wont hold it against the RT.
That isn't to say there isn't any problems. They give you touchscreen controls and it took me all of 10 seconds to pause the game and fish out my USB mouse. I prefer the keyboard if I can use it and especially with a game where they make you race low riders through the city. If you're more hardcore than me and you made it through this game on touch screen alone, more power to you but I prefer some more exact controls.
Another issue that needs more attention is the game freezes. I understand that it's a lot to expect a tablet to be able to run console games without sending me to the home screen but repeating missions is just intolerable after the first two times playing through.
The game also has some slow down issues when there is too much going on but it catches up shortly after. I've never found the slow down bad enough to get mad about.

Final Thoughts...

Whether this is your first visit to Los Santos or you've seen all of San Fierro this game has a lot of playability and has a lot to offer any type of gamer. I believe it's addition to the Windows Store will make other companies think again. The store is wide open and companies, big and small, would be wise to take advantage of this open field.
On the Windows RT it does have many bugs but the game only came out a week or two ago so I suspect things will get better as updates roll out. And I'm sure once I have enough money to get a controller for my tablet the gameplay will be even better.
Well, that's what I think. But I'd love to know what you think! Leave questions, comments or just reminisce about how great this game is below!

This game also has almost equal system requirements which watch dogs has. But,many of your PC's may not reach the minimum requirements of Grand theft auto 5.So,i have decided to make an informational hub about building a PC for playing GTA 5 with a budget of $1500.This hub includes the best processors, graphic cards and other computer accessories with which you can play GTA 5 in maxout settings. So,have a look at them.

Best Processors for GTA 5 under $400

Processors are secondary components for gaming. While, graphic cards or video cards are compulsory for gaming. Many game lovers in my locality love to play games like GTA 5,but since they have a pretty low end PC,they cannot play these games. So,in this paragraph i will give you brief details about some of the important graphic cards below $500 which can play GTA 5.
In intel after a good research,i have found i8-4770k as the best choice to run GTA V on your PC effectively.Since,GTA 5 has not yet released for PC,still it is estimated that it can give FPS(Frames per second) up to 40.You can have a look at the i7-4770k gameplays in the YouTube. This is available in amazon for just $320

Best monitors for Gaming.

Monitors are the main bridges between game developers and players. It displays everything which you do while playing the game.It is one of the greatest inventions in the computers. After a good research and seeking help from the computer hardware merchants, i have found ViewSonic VA2446M-LED 24 inch screen monitor as the best choice.I also recommend you all to buy this monitor.Have a look at the video below for more details about this monitor.

Best Cooling fans for CPU for gaming

Nothing much to say about this. This actually helps your CPU to get over heated. It cools your Computer.Actually,if you have an Ac in your computer room, this fan's work gets more easier. But,anyways, this fan is compulsory. After research,i have found Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO as the right choice as it's price is less than $50.A friend of mine tried to use his PC with fan and he was able to run the PC for just 3 hours and that's all it got overheated and all important hardware were damaged due to heat.

Best Motherboards for Gaming GTA 5 under $200

Motherboard is actually one of the important hardware component. It is also sometimes called as Mainboard. It is the printed circuit board (PCB) which holds all the important hardware like processor, graphic card,RAM etc. So,motherboards play a key role in gaming too.In range of motherboards under $200,i have found ASUS MAXIMUS VI HERO DDR3 as the best choice. You can even overclock it.It is available in amazon for price of $195.

RAM for gaming 8GB Vs 16 GB

RAM stands for random access memory. It typically stores the data of your computer within less time. Many people have a dilemma whether to buy an 8GB RAM or 16 GB.Well, both are effective. Now a days, games are having High graphics with which usage of 16 GB RAM has increased. For minimum recommendation, you can buy any 8 GB graphic card. But,if you want to play games like Watch dogs,Battlefield 4,GTA 5 with maxout settings, without doubt you have to buy a 16 GB graphic card. But,always keep a budget of $100 for buying RAM.

Best Graphic card for GTA 5 under $400

These are the main and most important components for playing Games on your computer.Graphic cards actually render graphics of games and hence help you in playing games effectively without any Lag.So,here i have given highest budget for graphic cards in this post. As,GTA 5 is full of high graphics, one should definitely need a fantastic graphic card for playing game like GTA 5.
In this range, always Nvidia GTX series graphic cards are preferred.I have personally used GTX 770 on my PC for playing Watch dogs, which is now the highest graphic PC game in the world. This graphic card gave an FPS of 60 while playing Watch dogs with i7-4770 K processor. So,it is recommended to buy this graphic card which is available at the price of under $400
